150 Calorie Obsession: Arctic Zero
If you don’t live in LA, it’s unlikely your actor/waiter informed you of the miracle of Arctic Zero, so I’m here to give you the literal and figurative scoop. I adore, crave and dream about ice cream, but don’t seem to possess the portion control required for such delights. Cue Arctic Zero – It’s an ice cream-like treat with only 150 calories per pint. Yes, per pint!
I’ve sampled them all (with the exception of Pumpkin Spice which eludes me), and can cut the guess work out for you on the best ones. Vanilla Maple and Coffee are clearly the flavor winners, with Strawberry and Cookies and Cream trailing close behind. Don’t waste your time on the rest.
I’ve only seen it at Whole Foods to date, but I think they will soon be invading other stores in your area, but the vendor alone satisfies that voice in my head that usually barks at those chemically engineered diet foods. Not only are they 150 calories, but they also are:
-Suitable for lactose intolerants
-Contains only natural or organic ingredients
-Low glycemic and suitable for type 2 diabetics
-14 grams of whey protein
-8 grams of fiber and no sugar alcohols.
Purified water, whey protein concentrate, organic cane sugar, chicory root, dutch processed cocoa powder with alkali, guar gum, xantham gum, natural flavors, sea salt, monk fruit concentrate.
Dessert is back – enjoy!
